Industrial society has created both the possibility for unprecedented bounty as well as the countless horrors to which the people of earth have been subjected. In civilization exists both these threads of possibility, for they are woven seamlessly together as a single tapestry; in wanting for the positive aspects of society we have given justification to various destructive practices whos legacy plagues us.
We are faced now with a dire situation, we have but a short time to confront what is becoming the long emergency, the culmination of industrial societies damaging effects upon the people, the environment and civilization in general.
